Electrolux Vac Bag Reference Guide
Electrolux is one of the most renowned vacuum cleaner brands in the United States. Models made from the fifties on were so well built that they are still being used in homes to this day. Electroux vacuums have undergone some significant changes in the last 15 years. Newer style vacuums were introduced giving consumers some more choices. Below is a referenced guide for vacuum bags used by old and new Electrolux vacuums.
S-Bag - The S-bag is the most popular bag for Electrolux vacuums made in the last 10 years. There are several different variations of the S-bag but they are all the same size. Currently there is a Classic, Clinic, Anti-Odour and an Ultra Performance bag. There is also a Style OX vacuum bag that is actually the same size as the Electrolux S-bag. The Style OX is actually a Eureka bag. Eureka owns Electrolux so there are quite a few Common models between Eureka, Sanitaire and Electrolux. By common models I mean there are a few Eureka or Sanitiare vacuums that are basically rebranded Electrolux vacuums. The S-bag and style ox bag will fit canister version of the Electrolux Harmony, Oxygen and Oxygen 3 models. It will also fit several Eureka and Sanitiare 6900 series canister vacuums.
Intensity Bags - The Electrolux Intensity is a very unique vacuum cleaner. The Intensity uses a specific vacuum bag that doesn't fit any other brands or Electrolux modles at the moment. If a vacuum bag says it fits the Intensity that is all it fits. The Electrolux Intensity also uses a specific filter that is exclusive the Intensity vacuum as well.
Electrolux Upright Oxygen and Aptitude - The upright Electrolux Oxygen and Aptitude vacuums can use a EL204C, EL204B, EL204A and EL204 Electrolux bag. This bag will not fit the Oxygen 3 upright. There are also generic vacuum bags available for these uprights if you choose not to buy or cannot find Electrolux brand bags.
Style C - This is the most popular of all Electrolux vacuum bags. The Style C Electrolux bag fits Electrolux Tank canister models made since the mid fifties. The important thing for consumers to know is that these bags should be either a multi ply or allergen treated to protect the vacuum. Style C canister bags will also fit the Perfect canister vacuum, which is a knockoff of the old Electrolux canister tank style vac.
Style U - Electrolux style U bags are designed to fit the commercially style DuraLux and several other variations. The Electrolux upright vacuums that utilizes a style c bag does not have any attachments. It will fit Discovery, Epic and several other Electrolux upright vacuum cleaners.
Style R - Electrolux Lux 9000 and Guardian canister vacuums use a style r Electrolux vacuum bag. These models were typically grey or blue and came with a high end vacuum hose. The style r vacuum series was very popular for a ten to fifteen year period in time.
Oxygen 3 Upright - The Electrolux Upright version of the Oxygen 3 has a bag that will not fit any other Electrolux uprights. The Oxygen 3 upright vac can use the Electrolux EL205, EL205A and EL205B. It can also use the Sanitaire Precision Upright bag # SP205. The upright Oxygen 3 and Sanitaire Precision are basically the same vacuum cleaner so the bags are interchangeable.
Any one of the vacuum bags mentioned above can be purchased online. All of these bag are still very popular even though some of the vacuums they fit haven't been made in years. We believe the Electrolux Intensity vacuum has been retired and that may make those bags a bit challenging to find a few years from now but the other Electrolux bags belong to vacuums that are or have been extremely popular and we would expect those bags to be available for years based on our experience.
